Installing direct APKs

On an Android phone

  1. Download the companion APK on the phone.
  2. If Android asks, allow your browser to install unknown apps, then confirm installation.
  3. Future direct APK updates are manual: download and install the newer compatible APK over the existing app.
  4. Remove the companion through Android Settings → Apps.

On a Wear OS watch

Downloading a watch APK on your phone does not install it on the paired watch.

  1. Confirm the watch runs Wear OS API 33 or newer.
  2. Enable Developer options and Wireless debugging on the watch.
  3. Connect with ADB from a computer and run adb install path-to-watch.apk.
  4. Select the installed watchface in the watchface picker.
  5. Updates and removal are manual; Google Play does not manage direct APK builds.

Current Core watch builds require Wear OS API 33 or newer. Companion builds require Android API 24 or newer.
